The Next Generation AVAtrix

The new AVX-562 is now shipping!

AVAtrix 2.0: Now in black with a new, compact design.

The AVAtrix has evolved into a more streamlined, and even more integrator-friendly, solution for high definition matrix routing. The AVX-562 offers a smaller cabinet, eliminates on-site assembly of head-end components, adds user features, and has built-in IR routing capability.

Smaller Form Factor

The AVX-562 doesn't just LOOK slim in black -- it packs all the functionality of the AVX-561-NR into one cabinet that's only two rack units high. The cabinet also includes the IR router (see below).

No assembly is required for the head end component in the basic 6x7 configuration. Output capacity is easy to add by installing Model 1176 Cat 5 Matrix Expanders. Maximum capacity is 36 Cat 5 outputs.

IR Routing Built In

The unique Model 1108 IR router was a popular feature of the AVX-561, and now that functionality is incorporated into the AVX-562 chassis to make it even easier to use. An LED indicator shows traffic on the IR jack for easy troubleshooting.

Our special IR routing technology makes it possible to send IR signals from the wallplate locations specifically to the source component active at that location - without effecting other sources that may respond to the same IR commands. This feature is especially useful in an equipment closet with several same-brand cable or satellite boxes.

New User Features

The new AVAtrix firmware (version 2.6) includes several improvements, the most notable of which are the parental controls. These features allow permanent or temporary lockout of individual sources and/or zones.

Permanent Lockout: A source can be locked out from multiple zones at all times using the password-accessible setup menu on the AVAtrix. This level of control is ideal for controlling children's access to individual sources on a more permanent basis.

Temporary Lockout: For managing real-time viewing privacy, temporary lockout is accessible via IR remote control. There are two levels of viewing privacy: one prevents all other zones from viewing the selected source, the other simply prevents other veiwers from controlling the source.
